Growing up in a sailing family, I spent my life on the water. I have raced and cruised dinghies and yachts, and my current passion is offshore yacht racing.

Putting aside my stint as a dinghy instructor in my teenage years, I started teaching about 15 years ago with RIB instruction. I found a love for seeing the satisfaction on students’ faces when they achieved something new. This developed into instructing the RYA Yachtmaster scheme culminating in my giving up the day job to pursue my love of teaching on a full-time basis.
