Request for Assistance: When a vessel displays the Victor flag, it indicates that the vessel is in distress or requires immediate assistance due to a situation such as engine failure, medical emergency, or any other critical condition that jeopardises the vessel or its crew.

Emergency Signal: The Victor flag is an internationally recognized distress signal, prompting nearby vessels to render assistance per maritime law and conventions, such as the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS).

Code Flag Victor (V)

Nautical or signal flags are used at sea to convey messages over long distances. Only black, blue, red, white and yellow are used because these are the only colours readily distinguished at sea. Many different coding schemes have been used, but the International Code is the most common.
