Request for Tug Assistance: When a vessel displays the Zulu flag, it communicates that the vessel requires the assistance of a tugboat. Tugs are often needed to help manoeuvre large vessels in and out of ports, navigate through narrow channels, or assist in berthing and unberthing operations.

Code Flag Zulu (Z)
Nautical or signal flags are used at sea to convey messages over long distances. Only black, blue, red, white and yellow are used because these are the only colours readily distinguished at sea. Many different coding schemes have been used, but the International Code is the most common.
